Possible Cause(s)
• AC Power Cord not connected.
• Cassette not inserted.
• T. Rec not lit.
• No program in Timer.
• TV station problems.
• Picture menu not adjusted properly. -Check picture menu options settings.
• Local interference.
• Sub-standard broadcast.
• Sub-standard cable signal.
• Old, worn out tape.
• CATV not connected, loose.
• Local interference.
• Scrambled CATV channel.
• Cable not connected.
• Cable service interrupted.
• TV set not CATV.
• TV-CATV set incorrectly.
• UHF Antenna not connected.
• Audio Muted.
• Broadcast problem.
• On Timer turned TV On.
• Off Timer turned TV Off.
• Sleep Timer turned TV Off.
• Not available on show.
• Not turned on.
• Viewing is restricted by V-Chip.
• Don't Know password.
• Channel content is
restricted by V-Chip.
Possible Solution(s)
-Connect power cord. Try a different outlet.
-Local power failure?
-Insert VHS cassette.
-Press TIMER REC. to light T.Rec indicator light.
-Press PROG. to see Timer Recording Schedule.
-Try a different channel.
-Check for disturbing source.
-Try a different channel.
-Notify cable company of reception problem. Play a tape.
-Try a different tape.
-Make or tighten connection.
-Try different channel. Turn off interfering appliance.
-Tune to unscrambled channel.
-Connect cable to UHF/VHF.
-Contact cable service.
-Select CATV in TV Set-Up menu.
-Set to proper mode, do channel search.
-Connect UHF antenna.
-Press MUTE or volume right key to increase sound level.
-Try a different channel.
-Cancel On Timer, and/or turn TV off.
-Cancel Off Timer, and/or turn TV back on.
-Turn TV back on.
-Check local TV listings to see if available on broadcast.
-Relocate over-the-air antenna.
-Try a different channel with Closed Captions or Text.
-Pick a Closed Caption or Text option.
-Key-in password and press ENTER to unlock V-Chip
restrictions temporarily.
-Turn V-Chip Set to Off in V-Chip Set menu.
-Tune to channel without V-Chip "Content" restrictions.
-Tune a channel without V-Chip "Content" restrictions or set
individual restrictions in V-Chip Set menu to Off.
