No power comes ON.
No sound comes from the
speaker.
Transmitting is impossible, or
high power cannot be se-
lected.
The displayed channel can-
not be changed.
Scanning or dual watch/tri-
watch does not function.
Memory scan does not func-

Dual watch functions but tri-
watch doesn't or vice versa.
Receive signal cannot be

e The battery is exhausted.
e Bad connection to the battery pack.
e [SQL] is turned too far CW.
e [VOL] is turned completely CCW.
e Ch 15, 17 and 70 are for low power only.
e The battery is exhausted.
e The output power is set to low.
e Lock function is activated.
e Channel 16 mode has been selected.
e Dual/tri-watch has been activated.
e Scan has been activated.
e Channel 16 mode has been selected.
e The squelch is open.
e2 or more memory channels must be pro-
grammed with channel information
e You must set the transceiver to operate one or

¢ Optional voice scrambler is turned OFF.

e Push [16] to return to normal operation.
e Push [DUAL*SCAN] to cancel dual/tri-watch.
e Push and hold [DUAL*SCAN] to cancel scan.
e Push [16] to return to normal operation.
e Rotate [SQL] clockwise.
e Program 2 or more memory channels with chan-
nel information
e Select dual watch or tri-watch operation in SET
mode.
e Turn the optional voice scrambler ON.
e Reset the scrambling code.
