4. AMPLIFIER
FRONT OF AMPLIFIER_
1 SYSTEM POWER OFF/STANDBY- for switching the sys-
tem on (in standby mode) or for switching the power off.
2 IR CONTROL - infrared remote control eye. The little red
indicator on VOLUME 5 flashes during reception from the
remote control.
3 LANGUAGE - for selecting the language in which most of
the messages are shown in the display.
4 Display - for showing messages, settings, etc.
5 Volume - knob for adjusting the volume. It contains a little
red indicator for remote control reception and standby indi¬
cation.
6 DBB - Dynamic Bass Boost, for enhancing the bass tones.
7 SURROUND - for creating a spatial effect. The effect
works best when a 4-speaker system is used.
8 ▼ ADJUST ▲ - for adjusting a graphic equalizer frequency
in the programming mode.
9 PHONO/AUX - for selecting a record player connected to
the PHONO sockets 6 (on the back of the amplifier) or
another sound source like a VCR, TV, CDV etc. which is con¬
nected to the AUX sockets 7 on the back of the amplifier.
Press the button once to select the record player and press
it again to select the source connected to the AUX sockets.
10DCC - for selecting a Digital Compact Cassette recorder
connected to the DCC IN/OUT sockets (only for analog sig¬
nals)
11 ◄ SELECT ► - for selecting a graphic equalizer frequency
band in the programming mode
12 PROG - for entering the programming mode to change and
store graphic equalizer presets
13 PRESET - for selecting the 5 fixed and the 5 personally pro¬
grammable graphic equalizer presets.
14 FLAT - for selecting a flat frequency response and switch¬
ing off the graphic equalizer presets
15 PHONES - socket for stereo headphones
16 DSP - for activating the Digital Sound Processing function
to add special sound effects.

CONCERT
- 7 BAND SPECTRUM ANALYZER/GRAPHIC EQUALIZER -
The spectrum analyzer shows the frequency distribution of
the selected source in real time. The graphic equalizer
shows the setting of the 5 programmable equalizer presets
(6-10) during programming.
This area is also used to show the stereo balance adjust¬
ment.
- ICONS - to indicate the 5 fixed equalizer settings for classic,
vocal, rock, jazz and disco music
- PRESET NUMBERS - to indicate which equalizer preset is
selected
- SURROUND - Lights up when the surround sound effect is
selected.
- PRESENCE, HALL, STADIUM, LIVE, CONCERT - to indicate
which Digital Sound Processing setting is selected
- FLAT - Lights up when the equalizer is not activated and the
response is flat.
- TEXT DISPLAY - to show messages
