3.4 Document (or Copy) Setting
Without the optional ADF
Raise the copyboard cover and place the original facedown on the copyboard glass along
the scale on your left. Make sure the top of the original faces down as illustrated.

Using the optional ADF
Place the original faceup on the document tray and move the copy guide to adjust it to the
correct size. Make sure the top of the original faces up as illustrated.
Notes: 1. Before using the ADF, make sure there is no paper on the copyboard glass by
raising the ADF.
2. If the original is curled or wrinkled, first straighten it. Then set it on the
document tray. Or place the original on the copyboard glass as in the
procedure described above.
3. An OHP transparency should be backed with a sheet of white paper before
scanning.
4. Do not use Mini-size paper in the ADF. If it is necessary to scan Mini-size paper,
set the paper on the copyboard glass.
