Date and Time
The date and/or time display appears in the
viewfinder when you press the DATE button. If you
start recording now, it will be superimposed on the
scene. Press the button again to cancel the
display.
Choosing the display style

If you have not set the date and time, —:—:—
appears in the viewfinder when you press the
DATE button. This will not be recorded.
Setting the date and time
Set the date and time display when you first start
using your camera. As long as you have installed
the backup battery (p. 10), the camera's internal
clock will continue to work even when the main
power source is removed.
You can choose from three different date/time
displays:

1. Turn the program selector to a
recording program and open the
STANDBY cover.
2. Press and hold the DATE button for
three seconds.
• The year display in the viewfinder starts
flashing.
1. Put the camera in record pause mode.
2. Open the camera menu and point the
arrow at AUTO DATE.
3. Select the style you want, and close the
menu.
3. Press the FlexiZone controller up or
down to scan the year display.
• Press once to scan a year at a time. Press
and hold to scan quickly.
4. When you have chosen the year, press
the FlexiZone controller sideways.
• The year is set, and the next part of the
display starts flashing.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to set the months,
days, hours and minutes.
6. Press the DATE button to start the
clock.
Note:
• The display can be set to any year between 1996
and 2020.
