The orientation mark on one end of the ROM must be toward the top of the socket. If a
ROM is not oriented properly, it cannot be programed and may be damaged. If the
ROM is not oriented properly, the following error message may be displayed when the
universal programmer attempts to access the ROM:

Verify that the type of ROM that you are installing is the same as the type selected with
the TY E command. If you specify its type incorrectly, you can damage a ROM when
you try to program it or read it.
