3.3. CONNECTING THE MEASUREMENT TRANSDUCER
Connection of the Preamplifier is via a miniature 5-pin socket on the rear panel of the in-
strument. The corresponding plug has spring catches to lock it to the socket. To remove
the plug it must be held by the outer ring, which slides back when pulled, releasing the
catches and allowing the plug to be withdrawn. Pulling the rear portion of the plug, or
the cable, will not release these catches and the plug will remain locked in place.
If the length of the transducer cable is insufficient, it may be extended by using exten-
sion cable AO 0124 (3m). Fig.3.2 shows the pin connections.

3.3.1. Connecting a Microphone
A Bri..iel & Kjrer half inch microphone such as the type 41 34 screws directly to the Type
2642 Preamplifier. A one inch microphone e.g. Type 4144 requires an adaptor DB
0962 as shown in Fig.3.3.
