Mechanical Design
The mechanical design of the in-
strument is simple and robust. The
carriage which supports the writing
system and the pen drive itself are
both driven by stepping motors via
toothed
belts
.
This
method
mini-
mises mechanical coupling and vi-
bration
transmission.
The
motor
bearings and other moving parts are
self-lubricating for long trouble -free
service.
