Storage temperature range
To improve battery performance, always store in temperatures between –4°F (–20°C) and +104°F (+40°C).
Make sure that the limits in question are not exceeded. The best thing would be to keep the storage
temperature as close to the minimum values as possible: the battery discharges more slowly at low
temperatures.
Battery care
Battery life can be extended by following a few simple guidelines.
Always recharge the battery indoors, in a garage or other covered area that is dry and protected from the
elements.
Charge the battery only when the temperature is at least 41°F (5°C) — above freezing — but no higher than
95°F (35°C). Charging at lower or higher temperatures can be harmful to the battery.
Always keep the battery away from water, heat sources (stoves, radiators, open flames, etc.) and dangerous
chemicals.
Only use the charger provided to recharge the battery; never try to use other chargers. Using other chargers
may cause fire or explosion.
Never use the charger with other products. Never use the charger if it is damaged. Replace the charger if
the charger cable or charger unit is damaged.
Don't worry about charging the battery for more than 12 hours: the battery cannot be overcharged and will
not be damaged after 12 hours. Leaving the battery connected to the charger for up to 48 hours has no
negative effects.
To store the battery after it has been removed from the mower, follow the guidelines in "Maintenance and
storage of the mower."
If the engine does not run after fully recharging the battery, refer to the technical indications in
"Troubleshooting and troubleshooting suggestions." If you need further help, contact the nearest service
center.
WARNING: Before installing the battery cartridge, always check to see that the switch lever
actuates properly and returns to the original position when released. Operating a tool with a
switch that does not actuate properly can lead to loss of control and serious personal injury
Tool / battery protection system
The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the
motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tool or battery is
placed under one of the following conditions:

Overload protection

When the tool/battery is operated in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool
stops automatically. In this situation, turn the tool off and stop the application that caused the tool to become
overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.

Overheat protection

When the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stops automatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery cool
before turning the tool on again.
Over discharge protection
When the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stops automatically. In this case, remove the battery from
the tool and charge the battery.
