Connections & Music Stand
Check the Voltage (Before you connect the AC cord)
In some areas the PSR-4000 will have a voltage
selector on the bottom panel. Make sure that the
voltage selector is set for the AC mains voltage in
your area. The voltage selector can be set (rotated)
by using a screwdriver. If in doubt, contact your
Yamaha dealer.
1
The PHONES Jack
A standard pair of stereo headphones can be
plugged in here for private practice or late-night
playing. The internal stereo speaker system is auto-
matically shut off when a pair of headphones is
plugged into the PHONES jack.
2
The AUX OUT L/L+R and R Jacks
The rear-panel AUX OUT L/L+R and R jacks
deliver the output of the PSR-4000 for connection to
a keyboard amplifier, stereo sound system, a mixing
console, or tape recorder. If you will be connecting
the PSR-4000 to a monaural sound system, use only
the L/L+R jack. When a plug is inserted into the L/
L+R jack only, the left- and right-channel signals
are combined and delivered via the L/L+R jack so
you don't lose any of the PSR-4000 sound.
3
FOOT SWITCH 1 and 2 Jacks
One or two optional Yamaha FC5 footswitches
connected to these jacks can be used to control
sustain and a range of other important functions.
Refer to the "FOOT SWITCH 1" and "FOOT SWITCH
2" functions described on page 104.
