7. Maintenance

7.1. Routine Maintenance
Checking the UPS running status
If the utility power is normal, the UPS should work in Normal Mode, and there
shouldn't be any warning notifications on the LCD.
Checking the UPS running mode switching
Cut off the mains power supply to simulate the utility power supply interruption.
The UPS should transfer to Backup Mode. If this doesn't happen, please contact the
technical support team. Otherwise, just connect the power supply again and the UPS
will return to Normal Mode.
Checking the UPS panel functionality
Check whether the UPS panel display is consistent with the UPS running modes.
7.2. Battery Maintenance
The battery is an essential part of a UPS system. The lifespan of a battery is affected
by the environmental temperature and cycling use times. A typical UPS lead acid
battery lifespan is 300 cycles or up to 3 years in an optimal environment with 15-25 °C
temperature. High temperatures significantly decrease battery lifespan. Therefore, it is
highly recommended that the UPS is kept in a dust-free and ventilated environment at
room temperature.
The average charging period for this model is 12 hours.
The battery-test function is designed to detect problems in the battery. The lead acid
battery voltage is the main indicator of the battery's health status. When the battery
is in a bad condition, the voltage drops quickly or significantly strays away from its
nominal value.
If the UPS is not used, charging the battery once every 6 months is highly
recommended. Battery replacement should always be performed by a qualified
technician. Please seek advice from a local distributor.
