6.2. UPS Working Modes
Normal Mode
When the UPS is connected to the utility power and turned on it will work in Normal
Mode (line-interactive mode) and supply utility power, conditioned by the AVR system,
to the connected loads, but only on the Backup Side. Normal Mode is indicated by the
AC MODE icon on the LCD icon on the LCD. The automatic voltage regulation (AVR)
system protects all connected loads, as it takes the fluctuating voltage and changes it
into a constant voltage.
IMPORTANT!
When the UPS is overloaded the load level indicator on the LCD will blink and the
overload alarm will loudly beep. Then the UPS will shut down to protect the battery, as
indicated on the LCD. Please disconnect some of the devices to reduce the load below
100%.
Backup Mode
Please remember that the Backup feature is only available at the Backup outlets, on
the right side of the UPS. When there is no utility power supply during a power failure,
the UPS will automatically switch to run in Backup Mode only, as indicated by the
Bat. MODE icon on the LCD. Bypass outlets DO NOT provide power in Backup Mode. In
this mode, the battery works as a power source and supplies stable AC power for a
certain period, depending on the connected loads.
In Backup Mode, the alarm beeps once every 7 seconds. The user can mute the alarm
by short pressing the power button. If the battery capacity is very low, the alarm will
beep every 1 second and can't be muted. It's a warning to save your work and safely
shut down your devices.
6.3. The UPS Operation
6.3.1. Turn on the UPS
Turning on with utility power
After connecting the UPS to the utility power outlet, it will automatically turn on in
standby mode and provide unconditioned power on the Bypass side. Press and hold the
power button until you hear the beep. The UPS will turn on as indicated by the bright
light on the LCD. The UPS will perform a self-test and begin to provide an output power
supply on both sides, bypass, and backup, and operate in Normal Mode. If the utility
power is abnormal, the UPS will switch to working in Backup Mode.
Turning on without utility power
With no utility power supply to feed the UPS, press and hold the power button until you
hear the beep. In the turn-on process, the UPS has the same operation as if it were
