  • Page 7 INITIAL INSTALLATION 2. Determine mounting method to use. A. Downrod mount (standard or angled ceiling) 20° max. B. Closemount (standard ceiling only) IMPORTANT: If using the angle mount, ensure the ceiling angle is not steeper than 20°. *Helpful Hint: Downrod-style mounting is best suited for ceilings 8 ft.

    INITIAL INSTALLATION 5. Remove motor screws/lock washers (N) from underside of motor housing (H) and save for blade arm (M) attachment later on.   • Page 9 DOWNROD-STYLE FAN MOUNTING 3. Slip downrod (C) into yoke, align holes and re-install pin (D) and clip (E). Tighten downrod set screws and then tighten nut. Set Screw and Nut Depending on the length of downrod you use, you may need to cut the lead wires back to simplify the wiring.

    DOWNROD-STYLE FAN MOUNTING Install hanging ball of downrod (C) into opening of mounting bracket (A). Align slot in hanging ball with tab in mounting bracket (A). DANGER: Failure to align slot in the ball with the tab may result in serious injury or death. Continue to WIRING on page 11.

    CLOSEMOUNT-STYLE FAN MOUNTING Temporarily hang fan on the tab on the mounting bracket (A) using one of the non-slotted holes in the canopy (F). WIRING WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury, wire connectors provided with this fan are designed to accept only one 12-gauge house wire and two lead wires from the fan.
  • Page 12 WIRING IMPORTANT: Make the necessary wiring Wire Connectors connections for remote control operation as detailed in Step 1b below. For each wire connection, use one of the wire connectors from the remote pack (G), making sure to screw wire connector on in a clockwise direction.
  • Page 13 WIRING Wrap electrical tape (not included) around each individual wire connector (CC) down to the wire. WARNING: Make sure no bare wire or wire strands are visible after making connections. Place GREEN and WHITE connections on opposite side of the outlet box from the BLACK and BLUE (if applicable) connections.

    FINAL INSTALLATION Temporarily lift canopy (F) to mounting bracket (A) to determine which two canopy mounting screws/lock washers (B) in mounting bracket (A) Closemount Downrod align with slotted holes in canopy (F) and Option Option partially loosen these two canopy mounting screws/lock washers (B).
  • Page 15 FINAL INSTALLATION 3. Attach blade arms (M) to the bottom of motor housing (H) with motor screws/lock washers (N) previously removed (Step 5, page 8). Tighten motor screws/lock washers (N) securely. NOTE: Make sure to completely secure each blade arm (M) before proceeding to the next.

    FINAL INSTALLATION Remove socket rings (Q) from sockets on light kit fitter (I). Attach shades (P) to sockets, securing with socket rings (Q). WARNING: Do not overtighten socket rings (Q) as shades (P) may crack or break. Socket Install bulbs (J). WARNING: When replacing bulbs, allow bulb(s) and shade(s) to cool down before touching them.

If this is not desired, turn wall switch off to any other programmable receiver or fan.   • Page 18 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3. Restore electrical power. IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to remote control transmitter, remove the battery if not used for long periods. Store the remote control transmitter away from excess heat or humidity. NOTE: If fan and/or remote control fail(s) to operate or you have purchased a new remote control transmitter, make sure to turn the power off first.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS In warmer weather, setting the reverse switch in the LEFT position will result in downward airflow creating a wind chill effect. In cooler weather, setting the reverse switch in the RIGHT position will result in upward airflow that can help move stagnant, hot air off the ceiling area.

    LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY Set forth below, the manufacturer warrants the fan motor for this ceiling fan to be free from defects in workmanship and material for the life of the product. Also, subject to the limitations below, the manufacturer warrants all ceiling fan parts (“ceiling fan parts” excludes the motor and parts made in whole or in part with glass) to be free from defects in workmanship and material for a period of one year after the date of purchase by the original purchaser at retail.
