    8937260 VERTICAL SHAFT GAS ENGINE V1.0 ENGINE OPERATIONS Check the engine’ s condition before operating to maximize the user’ s safety and the service life of the engine. Ensure that the engine is level and the switch is in the OFF position before beginning the pre-operation checks.

Inspect the engine components periodically. Check fuel lines, tank, cap and fittings frequently for cracks or leaks. Have damaged or worn components repaired or replaced by an authorized technician.

Place 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of oil into the spark plug hole. • Pull starter rope slowly 8 to 10 times to properly coat the cylinder bore and piston for storage. Replace spark plug and tighten. Any residual oil will burn off in subsequent starts.
