7 : TROUBLESHOOTING

7.1

Fault finding

CAUTION: Do not damage the plug or power cable: risk of electric shock and fire.
Contact the authorised customer service network or a specialised electrician to replace a
damaged power cable.
Problem
The appliance is
not working or is
insufficiently cold.
Abnormal noise.
Possible causes
The appliance is unplugged.
Circuit breakers have tripped or
fuses have blown.
Electrical power failure or power line
fault.
The refrigerator has been stored
in a place in which the ambient
temperature is below 10°C.
The compressor runs constantly.
The seals appear to be deformed.
The appliance has been placed in an
unstable position.
The appliance is touching a wall.
There are objects on top of the
fridge.
Solution
Plug in the appliance to the power
socket.
Open the refrigerator door and
check to ensure the interior light
comes on.
Make sure the appliance is correctly
connected to the mains supply and
that the power socket is working.
Install the refrigerator in a protected
place with ambient temperature
higher than 10°C. If the refrigerator
is installed in a room where the
temperature is too low, the internal
cooling system may malfunction.
Possible fault. If the appliance is not
cooling, call customer service.
After prolonged use, the door seal
may harden and become partially
deformed. Warm the seal with a hot
cloth to soften it and then close the
refrigerator door.
Use the feet adjustment facility to
stabilise the appliance.
Move the appliance away from the
wall and follow the indications given
in (Fig.5.1).
Remove the objects.
