As standard the EuroDrill is equipped with the drawbar Cat. II. The top link pin can be used alternatively for category I or II.
  • Page 11: Parking The Implement

4.3 Parking the implement The EuroDrill will be supplied with lifted coul- ters and without fitted harrow for dispatch reasons. For this reason two outer coulters are fitted as stands. With the seed drill of 4,00 m and 4,50 m an additional stand is fitted.
  • Page 12 The adjustment information for the setting of the seed drill and the adjustment of the first calibration test can be taken from the above table. By means of the Lemken calculation slide the required gear box adjustment can be cal- culated after the first calibration procedure (picture LRS-01 and LRS-02).
  • Page 13: Filling The Hopper

5.2 Filling the hopper Before filling the bottom flaps must be ad- justed! The hopper may only be filled when the seed drill is fitted to the tractor or fitted to the tractor with a soil cultivation implement. No foreign parts (like a packing list) may be inside the hopper.
  • Page 14: Slides

The agitator rods are fitted to the agitator shaft by means of clamps. (Picture DKA-34). 5.3.2 Slides By means of adjusting the slides (AS) in four steps the seed flow to the seed wheel hous- ings can be regulated. 0 = Position "CLOSED“ for closing the re- quired row.
  • Page 15: Combi-Seed Wheel Vario-Plus

5.3.4 Combi-Seed Wheel Vario-Plus The Combi-Seed Wheel VARIO-PLUS can be adjusted in three different adjustment positions. With these seed wheels all usual kinds of seed can be seeded. Full seed wheel (1/1): With this adjustment both halves of the seed wheel are switched on. This ad- justment will be chosen for most types of crops and large-grained seed.
  • Page 16: Adjustment Of The Seed Rate

If the scale value is doubled for example, the seed quantity will be doubled, too. By means of the Lemken calculation slide the required gear box adjustment can be calculated eas- ily after the first calibration test. Before starting to seed it must always be checked whether the adjusted seed rate is sufficient.
  • Page 17 Weighed out quantity of seed for 1/10 ha x 10 = quantity of seed per hectare With deviations from the required quantity of seed, adjust the gear box according to the Lemken calculation slide. (Picture LRS-01 and LRS-02) During calibration a clicking noise may occur in the gear box due to the overrun clutch.
  • Page 18: Calculation Slide

5.5 Calculation slide The Lemken calculation slide replaces the seed table, which has been delivered with each seed drill. The calculation slide shows the following functions and adjustment in- structions: 1. Adjustment data according to the seed for the bottom flaps, the seed wheel and the slide as well as an additional adjustment recommendation of the gear box, and that for the first calibration test.
  • Page 19: Seeding Control

(below or above the re- quired seed quantity 202 kg/ha) and adjust the gear box concerned = 75. It must be ensured that the adjustment- and reading data of the Lemken calculation slide are always on the same scale line! A separate operation instruction in English and French language is stated on the inside page of the calculation slide.
  • Page 20: Coulters

6 COULTERS The Lemken seed drill EuroDrill is available with standard coulters (SI) or disc coulters (SB). It must be ensured, that the seed drill is always lowered when in a forward motion, in order to prevent clogging of the shares.
  • Page 21: Track Scraper Outer Coulter Sb

6.1.2 Track scraper outer coulter SB The EuroDrill can be equipped with this coul- ter subsequently, if it is not fitted as standard. The special advantage of this coulter is that besides an exact working depth no blocking is ensured.
  • Page 22: Transport Locking Device Of The Coulters

The screw position and the adjusted pres- sure can be read on the scale. The central coulter pressure adjustment is standard equipment of the EuroDrill. 8.3 Hydraulic pressure adjustment Instead of the screw (SP) of the central pressure adjustment an hydraulic ram (hydraulic pressure adjustment) is available as an option.
  • Page 23: Harrows

9 HARROWS 9.1 General For covering the seed with soil the following harrows can be used, depending on the soil conditions. 9.2 Split harrows With a working width up to 3 m this harrow consists of 2 swinging suspended harrow sections.
  • Page 24: Adjustment Instructions

9.5 Adjustment instructions For fitment of the top- and lower links to the brackets (KO) several hole sizes are avail- able. The top- and lower links of the linkage can be fitted to the linkage in different posi- tions. Therefore the position of the harrow can be changed.
  • Page 25: Hydraulic Track Marker Operation In Connection With Pre-Germination Marker

For the change of the track markers the hydraulic ram will be closed completely and after that opened again. The reverse mechanism controls the change of track markers. For the hydraulic operation a single acting tractor spool valve is required. In order to reduce the lifting speed an adjustable restrictor is provided at the screw connection of the hydraulic port.
  • Page 26: Tramlining Rhythm

13 TRAMLINING RHYTHM A tramlining rhythm must be chosen. There are 2 possibilities. 13.1 Uneven rhythm The working width of the sprayer or fertiliser spreader may be 3, 5, 7 or 9 times greater than the seed drill width. Example: Sprayer Seed drill Tramline rhythm...
  • Page 27: Adjustment Of The Tramline Width

14 ADJUSTMENT OF THE TRAMLINE WIDTH The tramline width must correspond to the track width of the tractor which will be used with a sprayer or fertiliser spreader. From the centre of the seed drill the dimension of a half of the tramline width for exam- ple with a track of 1,50 m = 0,75 to the right and to the left is measured and then the two closest coulters must be chosen at the measured value.
  • Page 28: Conversion Of The Tramline To An Other Track Width

15 CONVERSION OF THE TRAMLINE TO AN OTHER TRACK WIDTH − Choose the required seed wheels (SR) for the new track width. − Rotate the seeding shaft to view the groove (KN). − Make the gears on the intermediate shaft (VG) axially moveable by means of loosen- ing the clamps (SC).
  • Page 29: Fitting A Third Row

16 FITTING A THIRD ROW The width of the track will be determined by the row distance and the number of closed seed wheels. If wider tracks are desired than can be reached with 2 rows, a third row can be fitted. −...
