ME7848A/E ONA System Operation

This section describes the system operation of the ME7848A/E ONA System.

Stimulus Signal Generation

The ME7838AX/EX VNA outputs a stimulus signal from its test port and feeds directly to the MN4775A via
coaxial cable. These stimulus signal modulates the MN4775A E/O converter's internal laser. The modulated
optical signal is then sent to the MN4765B. The MN4765B O/E Calibration Module removes frequency from
the optical signal so test signal processing can occur.

Test Signal Processing

The test signal from the MN4765B RF connector is then fed back to the test port of the MS464xB or
ME7838AX/EX VNA for further signal processing.
