    3.1 How to Use the Product Safely 3.1.1 Technical life span and Warranty • On average, each AFO will last 3-9 months, depending on the child’s growth rate. As the child’s growth rate slows, more time can be expected. • The bars are adjustable and may last more than one pair of AFOs if adjustable bar width continues to facilitate shoulder width requirement.

    4.2 Mitchell Ponseti® AFO Carefully inspect the AFO before each use. Never use an AFO or bar that is damaged, broken or not functioning properly, as these may injure your child and/or render treatment ineffective. Always use socks with the AFO to prevent direct contact with the skin. Open the AFO so all the suede straps are clear for inserting the foot.

    4.3 Ponseti® Abduction Bar The bar should be set so that the width of the bar is equal to - or even slightly wider than - the shoulder width of the child. Measure the shoulder width of the child from the outside left shoulder to the right outside shoulder. Adjust the length of the bar, measuring from the center screw of the left heel cap to the center screw of the right heel cap, so that it is equal to the shoulder width measurement.

    8 GLOSSARY Term Meaning An AFO is a brace, usually made of plastic, that is worn on the lower leg and foot to support the ankle, Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) hold the foot and ankle in the correct position A procedure to keep the clubfoot in place after manipulation. Padding is wrapped around the foot, then Casting plaster or fiberglass is applied, and the cast is molded into place.

    Die Mitchell Ponseti®-Zehenstützen-AFO wurde speziell auf Empfehlung von Dr. Ponseti zur Aufrechterhaltung einer klinisch wünschenswerten Dorsalflexion durch Dehnung der Achillessehne und Aufrechterhaltung der Flexibilität des Fußes entwickelt. Dies wird mithilfe eines integrierten Keils erzielt, der am vorderen Ende der AFO befestigt wird. Damit werden beide Füße beim Stehen in einer Dorsalflexionsposition von 10 Grad gehalten.

    4.2 Mitchell Ponseti®-AFO Überprüfen Sie die AFO vor jeder Verwendung sorgfältig. Verwenden Sie niemals eine beschädigte, gebrochene oder nicht einwandfrei funktionierende AFO oder Leiste, da diese Ihr Kind verletzen und/oder die Behandlung unwirksam machen kann. Verwenden Sie stets Socken mit der AFO, um direkten Hautkontakt zu vermeiden. Öffnen Sie die AFO, so dass keiner der Wildlederriemen das Einführen des Fußes behindert.

    Nachdem die oberen Riemen fest angezogen sind und die Ferse gut sitzt, schließen Sie den Zehenriemen und ziehen Sie die übrigen Riemen bei Bedarf erneut fest. 4.3 Ponseti®-Abduktionsleiste Die Leiste ist so einzustellen, dass die Breite der Leiste der Schulterbreite des Kindes entspricht – oder diese sogar etwas übertrifft. Messen Sie die Schulterbreite des Kindes von der Außenseite der linken Schulter bis zur Außenseite der rechten Schulter.

    6 WARTUNG 6.1 Wiederverwendung des Produkts Sämtliche Teile sind zur Verwendung durch einen einzigen Patienten unter normalen Gebrauchsbedingungen und gemäß ärztlicher Verordnung ausgelegt.     4.2 OPT Mitchell Ponseti® Inspeccione detenidamente la OPT antes de cada uso. No utilice nunca una OPT o una barra que esté dañada, rota o que no funcione correctamente, pues podrían causarse lesiones al niño y hacer que el tratamiento resultara ineficaz. Use siempre calcetines con la OPT para impedir el contacto directo del producto con la piel.

    4.2 Mitchell Ponseti®-EVO Inspecteer de EVO zorgvuldig vóór elk gebruik. Gebruik nooit een EVO of stang die beschadigd of kapot is of die niet naar behoren functioneert, omdat uw kind hierdoor letsel kan oplopen en/of omdat de behandeling hierdoor mogelijk niet effectief is.
