Place the differential assembly on a bench, and remove
the lock
wire and eight case bolts that secure the differential gear case to the
drive gear assembly.
Separate the two halves.
If necessary,
use a
brass hammer to tap the two halves apart. Remove the differential
spider, together
with the differential
pinions and thrust washers,
from the differential gear case (fig. 35). Remove the differential side
gears and thrust washers.
