Unprotected cable ends
Danger of explosion through unprotected cable ends in hazardous areas.
• Protect unused cable ends in accordance with IEC/EN 60079-14.
Improper laying of shielded cables
Danger of explosion through compensating currents between hazardous area and the non-
hazardous area.
• Only ground shielded cables that run into the hazardous area at one end.
• If grounding is required at both ends, use an equipotential bonding conductor.
Incorrect selection of type of protection

This device is approved for several types of protection. You select one type of protection.
Incorrect use can lead to an explosion when used later.
• Connect the device in accordance with the selected type of protection.
