Updating and configuring the ASM processor

To update the Advanced System Management (ASM) firmware or configure the ASM
processor, you must download the image of the Advanced System Management
Firmware Update Utility program for your server from the IBM Support Web site at
http://www.ibm.com/pc/support/ on the World Wide Web.
You can run the Advanced System Management Firmware Update Utility program to
create an Advanced System Management Firmware Update Utility diskette for your
server.

Updating the ASM firmware

Use the Advanced System Management Processor Firmware Update diskette to
configure the ASM processor. With the configuration utility, you can:
This diskette updates the ASM software only. It does not affect any device drivers.
Complete the following steps to update the ASM firmware:
1. Turn off your server.
2. Insert the diskette into the diskette drive.
3. Turn on your server. If your server does not start up from the diskette drive, use
