THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR SYSTEM

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the throttle position sensor will not operate, use the following inspection steps.
TIP
Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Seat
2. Fuel tank
1. Check entire ignition system for
connection.
OK
2. Check throttle position sensor.
(Throttle position sensor coil)
Refer to "CHECKING THE THROT-
TLE POSITION SENSOR COIL" on
page 8-11 and "CHANGING AND
ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE PO-
SITION SENSOR" on page 8-11.
OK
3. Check CDI magneto. (Source coil)
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SOURCE COIL" on page 8-9.
OK
4. Check CDI unit. (Throttle position
sensor input voltage)
Refer to "CHECKING THE THROT-
TLE POSITION SENSOR INPUT
VOLTAGE" on page 8-13.
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR SYSTEM
Reconnect.
NG
Replace the throttle position sensor.
NG
Replace the source coil.
NG
Replace the CDI unit.
NG
