@ The 1 kHz is not adjustable using the tone controls.
Notes:
@ Pressing
the
BASS
or
TREBLE
button
when
the
indication is displayed automatically
switches the unit to the "original bass/treble setting
mode."
@ The
m analyzer display
This display shows the level distribution of different fre-
quency
elements
(the spectrum
distribution)
in the
source signal.
® Each time you store a new
bass/treble set-
ting in memory, the previous one is erased.
@ If you set the bass and treble in the "original bass/
treble setting mode" but then switch to another pattern
without saving your settings, they are erased.
@ Should the spectrum analyzer display suddenly reap-
pear before you have entered your new pattern, reen-
ter your settings starting from step @ above.
@ The bass and treble settings affect the sound you hear
when listening to music through speakers or head-
phones. They have no effect on signals recorded on
tape.

PLAYING COMPACT
DISCS
Playing an entire disc ... The following example
assumes a compact disc with 12 tunes and a total playing
time of 48 minutes 57 seconds.
Operate in the order shown

8-cm (3-3/16") "CD singles"
@
8-cm (3-3/16") compact discs can be used in this
unit without an adapter.
@ Set toon.
@ Set to the CD mode.
@ When a CD is first loaded, the total number of tracks
(tunes) and total playing time are displayed.
© Press to open the CD door.
@ Load a disc with the label side facing up. Press to close
the CD door. (The door can be closed by pressing the
(>i button.)
© Press to start play.
© As tunes are played, their track numbers go out one
by one.
Note:
When the CD door is closed by pressing the [> 1 button,
the CD starts as soon as the CD door is closed.
To stop play
® To stop in the middle of a disc
During playback, press the STOP/CLEAR button to stop
play.

® The total number of tracks (tunes) and total playing time are
displayed.
e To stop a disc temporarily
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to stop play temporarily.
When
pressed again, play resumes from the point
where it was paused.
Automatic source selection
e Simply press the play button corresponding to the
required source to listen to a CD or tape.
