<4. Fill-in Flash Mode>
In this mocte, the flash fires regardless of ambient light conditions.
When you are taking photos outside in strong sunlight or subjects that are backlit, the subject may
often become dark. In this situation, the fill-in flash mode lightens the shadows to produce photos
with clearly lit subjects and backgrounds, (daylight sync exposure)
• When the subject is dark and a shutter speed slower than 1/60 sec Is required, the shutter speed is set to 1/
60 sec.

Use this mode to take pictures of people at dusk or in a night scene when you want the
background to appear in the photo.
Since this mode is combined with the red-eye reduction mode, the shutter speed can become as
slow as 1 sec. (Slow sync exposure)
• Use of a tripod is recommended to prevent camera sn^e for the slow shutter speeds used by slow sync
exposure.
■ Available flash modes depend on camera modes as shown below.
