7 Press the BAND button on the Stereo Tuner or on
the remote control
repeatedly to select the
desired band.
> FM —> AM
If you press the button while the system is turned off, the
previously tuned station will be played (Direct Play Function).
2 Press the TUNING UP or DOWN button on the
Stereo Tuner or the <<
or ®P button on the
remote conirol to select a station.
Each time the button is pressed, the frequency changes.
When a station is received, "TUNE" is displayed for 2 seconds.
During FM stereo reception, {(t@1)) is displayed.

About the level indicator
The above display automatically changes to the level indicator
after 4 seconds.
The level indicator shows an approximate playback sound level.
To search for a station quickly (Auto Search)
Keep the TUNING UP or DOWN button (or the << or ®
button)
pressed until the tuner starts searching for a station. After tuning
in to a station, the search stops.
To stop the Auto Search manually, press the TUNING
UP or
DOWN button (or the << or ®P button).
* The Auto Search may not stop at stations with very weak signals.
When an FM stereo broadcast contains noise
Press the MODE button on the remote control.
"MONO" appears on the display.
Noise is reduced, although reception is monaural.

To restore stereo reception, repeat the above again.
To change the AM tuning interval
The default setting of the AM tuning interval is 10 kHz/step. If
you use this system in an area where the frequency allocation
system is 9 kHz/step, change the tuning interval.
Press the POWER
button while pressing the BAND button on
the Stereo Tuner.
To reset the interval, repeat this procedure.
When the AM tuning interval is changed, all preset stations (see
"PRESETTING
STATIONS') are cleared.
The preset stations
have to be set again.
To change the display
Press the DISPLAY button. With each press of the button, the
display changes in the following order.

Level indicator
@
Frequency of the tuned station
(Example: FM 90.00MHz)

Remaining recordable time of MD*
(Example: Rem
—48:07)
* Displayed for 4 seconds, only when the AM-LM99 optional Mini
Disc Recorder is connected and an MD is loaded into the Mini
Disc Recorder.
