When the RUGGEDCOM APE is inserted into a chassis, the first internal Ethernet port is activated on the connector that carries power to the RUGGEDCOM APE. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the APE module. Power on or reboot the module. - Page 29 If the syslog contains no messages reflecting an improper boot of the RUGGEDCOM APE, return the RUGGEDCOM APE to Siemens. USB flash drive. When the module boots from the USB flash drive, the target Linux/ Windows/application/BIOS image can be installed. Software images for the APE are available on the Siemens Industry Online Support (SIOS) website.
