WB (White Balance)
The white balance setting is used to compensate for the color temperature of the lighting environment you
are shooting in, so natural colors are restored. For example, underwater photos and videos of a white
object will appear blue because water absorbs red and yellow colors. The included red color-correction
filter which works well to offset this blue color effect. You may fine-tune the white balance to create the
desired color effect.
For best underwater colors, use a photo-video light and set the white balance to Auto. It is okay to keep
the red color-correction filter attached when using a photo-video to help boost the colors.
There are two white balance setting menus. The White Balance (WB) setting includes presets, like Auto,
Manual, Underwater Deep, Underwater Shallow, Daylight and Cloudy. The "Manual WB" includes all the
manual WB values ranging from 2000K to 10000K in 100K increments. Select the appropriate white
balance preset according to your environment. Here is a description for each of the White Balance WB
presets:
Auto - The Auto WB setting works well in most underwater lighting environments when used in combination
with the color-correction filter or underwater photo-video light.
Manual - Selecting "Manual" will allow you to manually adjust the white balance color temp (K) in the
"Manual WB" setting. You may manually adjust the WB to achieve the desired color effect. Select the
kelvin (K) value equal to your lighting environment. For example, if the actual color temp of your
environment is 6500K, set the manual WB to 6500K to offset the cooler, bluer lighting environment.
