TPMS Quick Start
Diagnosing and replacing a defective Tire Pressure Sensor with a new TruSensor
1. TPMS Diagnosis, refer to pp. 10-11.
a. Press the on-off button for ≈3 seconds to power up the device.
b. Select TPMS from the main menu screen.
c. Select make, model, and year of the vehicle.
d. Select TPMS Diagnosis, read the guidelines.
e. Select Confirm.
f. Driver's side front wheel will be selected on the display. Hold the TS58R within
10 CM of that wheel's valve stem and press the
ID and data.
g. Repeat this process with the remaining wheels and include the spare if there is a
sensor is installed there.

2. If a sensor tests as low battery or inoperative it must be removed and replaced.
3. Run the TS58R Sensor Programming by OBD with a new TruSensor, refer to
pp. 14-16.
a. Press the on-off button for ≈3 seconds to power up the device.
b. Select TPMS from the Main Menu Screen.
c. Select make, model, and year of the vehicle.
d. Select Sensor Programming.
e. Select Copy by OBD.
f. Connect the OBD Cable to the vehicle's DLC interface connector and turn the
ignition to the on position.
g. Click on the Confirm button, the TS58R will read all the Tire Pressure Sensor
IDs currently saved on the vehicle's ECU board and display them on the TS58R
screen.
h. Place the new replacement TruSensor within 10cm of the top of the TS58R.
i. Select the Sensor ID (wheel position) you wish to program and then click on
Programming.
j. To continue programming sensors, click Return and repeat steps g through i.
4. Remove the tire and inoperative sensor from the wheel.
5. Install the programmed TruSensor in place of inoperative sensor.
6. Remount the tire on the wheel.
7. Inflate and install the wheel and tire on the vehicle.
8. Repeat with the remaining sensors and wheels, if required.
