2.4 Safety on the operation

Do not use a palett truck until you have familiarised
yourself with it or been instructed in it. Read the instruc-
tions on the pallet truck and in the instructions for use
carefully. The instructions must be kept with the product
for inspection.
1. The applicable accident prevention regulations must
be followed. If the pallet truck is intended for use by
employees, the relevant labour regulations must also
be observed, e.g. the accident prevention regulations
General regulations (VBG 1).
2. Before each use of the pallet truck make sure that it is
technically in order. Pay particular attention to the
wheels, drawbar and lifting and lowering device. Ne-
ver use a damaged palett truck. Have any repairs
carried out by specialists only.
3. Never load the forks with a greater load or force than
the maximum load capacity.
4. Make sure that the load is evenly distributed and ne-
ver pick up the load with only one fork or with the fork
tips!
5. Never lift a load when the pallet truck is standing on
an unsuitable surface! Do not place any body parts
(hands, feet) under the forks when a load is lifted!
6. Never attempt to move a load lifted by the pallet truck
on the forks. A lifted load must under no circum-
stances be subjected to an impact or shock load.
7. Never lift a load that can slip or whose individual parts
are not firmly connected to each other with the pallet
truck. Ensure that the pallet truck operator is always
out of reach of any load that may slip or fall from the
forks.
8. Never leave a load lifted by the pallet truck unat-
tended.
9. When using the pallet truck, ensure that the user can
operate the pallet truck with the load without any pro-
blems.
10. Ensure that the surface on which the pallet truck
stands or where it is to be moved has sufficient load-
bearing capacity. If not, the pallet truck must be
placed on wooden or preferably metal planks with
sufficient load-bearing capacity and moved on them.
Such a measure is to be carried out by a Expert
before lifting and moving a load to verify.
