ActiveScale™ P100E3 Installation Guide
2. The operator can choose to configure the interface on public VLAN 1 (customer's network) while
performing the Himalaya install. This should yield a scenario in which the NTP server can be reached
and where the deploy of ActiveScale can continue over the public VLAN.
3. The operator can temporarily set the public IPs on the correct interfaces (eth0) by using:
sudo ip a add <public-ip>/<subnet> dev eth0.
4. For this to work for an NTP server not in the same subnet, the operator will have to add a default route
by using the following:
sudo ip route add default via <public-gateway> dev eth0
After this, the operator can run ntpdate and ensure the nodes are time synced. These settings will not be
persistent and will disappear after the deploy of ActiveScale

4.9 Initialize and configure nodes

Note: Log on to the first machine and run these steps on the first machine only.
1. Start a script to ensure that screen will open:
script /dev/null
2. Open a screen session so that you can always recover the installation process in case the SSH
connection breaks:
screen -S install
3. Start ActiveScale installation:
bash /home/marvin/installer/install_activescale.sh
To observe the progress of installation, review the log output on the screen where the install was launched
and also monitor /opt/ampli/var/log/marvin/install.log file. Additionally "/opt/ampli/bin/taskviewer -s
started" command can be used to monitor sub-tasks launched from the installation script.

4.10 Start CBW

Prior to starting the CBW, the Samurai process needs to be restarted on the first node.
This can be done using the following command:
sudo service marvinservices restart samurai
To start the Customer Bring-up Wizard, browse to and log in the GUI.
Browse to the GUI using the Public IP address of the first node only! This should be the same node where
we executed the Start the Activescale installation step which has set up the GUI configuration for CBW.
