A Brand-new Battery
A brand-new battery pack is not charged. Before
using the battery pack, charge it completely.
Before Recharging a Used Battery
Pack
¢ Make sure to use up the battery before
recharging.
¢ If recording is completed before the &J indicator
appears in the viewfinder, you should remove
the tape, turn the POWER switch to CAMERA,
turn STANDBY up, and leave the camcorder
until the SQ indicator flashes rapidly.
¢ When you use the AC-S10 power adaptor, you
can use the discharging function.
¢ Charging the usable battery causes a
lowering of battery capacity. Battery capacity
can be recovered if you fully discharge and
charge the battery again.
After Long Storage
Recharge the battery pack after a long period of
storage. If the battery pack is charged fully but
not used for a long time (about 1 year), it becomes
discharged. Charge it again, but in this case the
battery life will be shorter than normal. After
several charging and discharging cycles, the
battery life will recover its original capacity.
If the terminals (metal parts on the back) are not
clean, the battery duration will be shortened.
When the terminals are not clean or when the
battery pack has not been used for a long time,
repeat installing and removing the battery pack.
This improves the contact condition. Also, wipe
the + and — terminals with a soft cloth or paper.
Be Sure to Observe the Following
*To prevent an accident caused by a short
circuit, do not allow metal objects such as a
necklace to touch the battery terminals. Carry
the battery pack attaching to the terminal
cover. [d] on page 43.
¢ Keep the battery pack away from fire.
¢ Keep the battery pack dry.
¢ Do not open nor convert the battery pack.
* Do not expose the battery pack to any
mechanical shock.

Baterias nuevas
Una bateria nueva no estara cargada. Antes de
utilizarla, carguela completamente.
Antes de recargar baterias usadas
e Asegiirese de utilizar completamente la bateria
antes de cargarla.
¢ Si finaliza la filmacién antes de que en el visor
aparezca el indicador (1, extraiga el
videocassette, gire el selector POWER hasta
CAMERA, gire STANDBY hacia arriba y deje la
videocdmara hasta que el indicador
parpadee rapidamente.
° Cuando utilice el adaptador de alimentacién de
CA AC-S10, podra emplear la funcién de
descarga.
¢ Si carga una bateria sin descargar hara que la
capacidad de la misma disminuya. La
capacidad de la bateria podra recuperarse si
vuelve a descargar y cargarla
completamente.
Después de no haber utilizado una
bateria durante mucho tiempo
Recargue la bateria después de no haberla
utilizado durante mucho tiempo. Si una bateria
cargada completamente no se utiliza durante
mucho tiempo (aproximadamente 1 afio), ésta se
descargara. Vuelva a cargar la bateria, pero en
este caso su duracién sera mas corta de lo normal.
Después de varios ciclos de carga y descarga, la
bateria recuperara su capacidad original.
Si los terminales (partes metalicas de la parte
posterior) no estan limpios, la duracién de la
bateria se acortara.
Cuando los terminales no estén limpios o no haya
utilizado la bateria durante mucho tiempo, fije y
quite la bateria repetidamente. Esto mejorara el
contacto. Ademas, frote los terminales + y - con
un pafio o un papel suave.
Tenga en cuenta Io siguiente
¢ Para prevenir accidentes debido a un
cortocircuito, no deje que objetos metalicos
como un collar entren en contacto con los
terminales de fa bateria. Cuando Ileve la

¢ Mantenga la bateria alejada del fuego.
° Mantenga seca la baterfa.
© No abra ni desarme la bateria.
