Important
The radio receiver is designed for use with 220-
230 V AC 50 Hz mains only.
Never open the receiver. If it malfunctions, take
it to a qualified service technician.
The onloff switch does not isolate the receiver
from the mains when off. Unplug the receiver if it
is to remain unused for a long period.
Do not expose the receiver to rain or moisture.

The receiver can be powered from the mains (220-230V
AC 50 Hz) or from five 1.5 V R20 batteries (preferably
alkaline), housed in the battery compartment at the back
of the receiver. The ONISTANDBY switch should be set
to STANDBY when batteries are being installed.
When changing the batteries, try to do so within a two-
minute period, otherwise the preset stations will be lost.
If the receiver is not to be used for a long period, remove
the batteries. This will ensure that the receiver is not
damaged by battery leakage.
The receiver comes with the mains lead packed in the
battery compartment. To use the mains lead, connect itto
the socket (18). The batteries are automatically
disconnected when the mains lead is connected.

TIMER offlon. Active when the display shows ALARM.

frequency (when the receiver is on), clock or alarm
time.
When the receiver is off (STANDBY) the display shows
the clock time or the alarm time. When the receiver is
switched on, the display shows wavelength and station
frequency (for the station being received when the set
was switched off).

time or the alarm time when the receiver is on.
Hold down SNOOZEILIGHT to illuminate the display.

1. Set the ONISTANDBY switch to ON.
2. Select wavelength with the BAND switch.
3. Select the desired station with the TUNING buttons.
4. Set the VOLUME and TONE controls as to suit your
preference.
Aerial
For FM reception, pull out the telescopicaerial, and adjust
its direction and length for optimum reception.
The receiver has an internal aerial for LW and MW
reception. Turn the entire receiver for optimum reception.
Automatic station search
1. Hold down one of the TUNING buttons for about 5
seconds. The receiver starts to search for a station,
and stops when it finds the first station with a strong
enough signal.
2. If necessary, repeat until the required station is found.
To stop a station search in progress, press one of the
TUNING keys.
