Servicing the Battery

WARNING
Battery posts, terminals, and related
accessories contain lead and lead compounds,
chemicals known to the State of California to
cause cancer and reproductive harm. Wash
your hands after handling.
Important
Before welding on the machine,
disconnect the ground cable from the battery to
prevent damage to the electrical system.
Note: Check battery condition weekly or after every
50 hours of operation. Keep the terminals and battery
case clean because a dirty battery will discharge
slowly. To clean the battery, wash the entire case with
solution of baking soda and water. Rinse with clear
water. Coat the battery posts and cable connectors
with Grafo 112X (skin-over) grease (Toro Part No.
505-47) or petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
