Chapter 5 Keyboard Wedge Interface

Introduction

This chapter provides Keyboard Wedge interface information for setting up the scanner. Use this interface type to
connect the scanner between the keyboard and host computer. The scanner translates the bar code data into
keystrokes. The host computer accepts the keystrokes as if they originate from the keyboard.
This mode of operation adds bar code reading functionality to a system designed for manual keyboard input. In this
mode the keyboard keystrokes are simply passed through.
