transistor as far into its holes as possible, with the flat side

as illustrated.
[ ] [ / CR32. Install FL1, the 21.4 MHz IF filter. Its 3 wires may be
inserted either way; make sure its body is snug against the top of
the tmard before soldering.

[ ] [ kCR33a Prepare two 9" lengths of hookup wire for connecting

R13, the 1 OOK Squelch Control. Strip back 1/4" of each end except
for one end, which should be stripped back

Select the wire with the V2" stripped and tinned wire end.
Connect the

12" stripped end to the middle lug of the control,
... · "W"; with the extra V2" of bare wire terminated at the "CCW" lug.

Select the other wire with the 1/4 • stripped ends. Connect one
./end to the remaining lug on the control, "CW".

Notice the two points on the board between C7 and C16

marked CW (which means ·clockwise") and W (wiper). Connect
the wire that connects to
·cw·
lug, to the "CW" hole and the
remaining wire to the "W" hole.
[ ] [ ] CR34a COMPLETING AND INSTALLING T1.
Your kit includes a small doughnut-shaped "toroid" coil and also a
short length of enameled wire. Notice the PC board location and
drawing for this coil and that the section with 3 connections is
pre-wound.
