type 1 N914 or 1 N4148. Orient
the banded cathode end correctly.

DB.
[ ) [ ) G39. Similarly, install diode D24, same type as D8.
[ ) [ ] G40. If you have not done so already, install the MC145152 PLL
IC into the 28 pin DIP socket. Be sure to orient the notched end
correctly and that all
2B
pins are seated in the socket.
Progress Note:
The PLL Synthesizer is now fully assembled,( with the very essential
exception of the programming matrix!) No useful testing can be done at
this point. Even though the "R" oscillator controlled by the 12.BO MHz
crystal can deliver its 12.5 KHz reference signal to the phase detector,
we need to be able program both the frequency matrix and the offset
matrix in order to achieve a working, synthesized FM receiver.
Double-check the accuracy of your work. If previous tests have delivered
the intended results, you're now getting very close to a working
transceiver!
PLEASE study the following section carefully. Knowing how to program
the synthesizer
is
ESSENTIAL to trouble-free enjoyment of your
transceiver.
