7 AI Dash Cam Installation Instructions
7.1 AI Dash Cam Operating Conditions
The AI Dash Cam has an operating temperature range of -40°C~+70°C (-40°F~+158°F).
▪
Ensure that the product is mounted in a suitable location which does not exceed
temperature ranges during normal operations.
The AI Dash Cam is designed for interior use only. Do not install the device in areas that
▪
are exposed to excessive moisture.
The AI Dash Cam should be secured to the vehicle's windshield (interior side) using the
▪
device's mounting plate. The mounting plate can be affixed to the windshield using the
included adhesive 3M™ VHB™ strip.
Ensure that the windshield area where the plate will be mounted is flat, clean and dust-
▪
free before affixing the mounting plate's adhesive strip. Any texture or imperfections will
prevent the adhesive from making a strong and lasting bond. For best results clean the
windshield with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.
Do not use third-party peripherals or accessories, unless approved for use by Gatekeeper
▪
Systems.
7.2 Mounting the AI Dash Cam
Using the adhesive backed mounting bracket, secure the AI Dash Cam in the swept area
▪
of the front windshield.
The AI Dash Cam should be mounted to minimize visual obstruction of the driver so that
▪
the cables are oriented towards the top of the vehicle's windshield.
All cables running through holes in sheet metal must be protected with grommets.
▪
DO NOT disassemble the AI Dash Cam housing. There are no user serviceable parts
▪
inside, and removing the cover of the AI Dash Cam will void the device's warranty.
7.3 Power Supply
The AI Dash Cam operates between 8V ~ 36V. Please ensure a regulated, consistent
▪
power source is available for the device.
The power supply box connects to the device through a 10-pin power input-output
▪
connector (CAB000545). The power supply box is then connected to either a CAB000547
with flying leads or a CAB000546 with an OBD2 connector for power.
The supplied fuses MUST be used; Failure to use the provided fuses will void the device's
▪
warranty.
The 3AMP fuse must be installed close to the power source on the Yellow Ignition wire
▪
on the CAB000547
The 3AMP fuse must be installed as close as possible to the power source on the Red
▪
(+12V) wire on the CAB000547.
