    F l o w R a t e C h e c k 1. Install two fully charged batteries into IUT (Instrument Under Test), if calibrating a 9500. 2. Plug in power to IUT. 3. Turn on flow meter. 4. Start and warm up the unit for 15 minutes. 5.

    Setup Refer to Appendix A for the As Found Process Flow Chart and a complete list of Calibration Parameters. 1. Open the calibration software program “CCAPC Field Calibration, Version 3.4,” service kit S7000029. 2. Click on the APC 9XXX/OPC 82XX tab and it will open the 9XXX/82XX interface.

Document the Previous Channel Threshold of each size channel for entering later into the CCAPC Cert Gen program (Digital Cutpoint). 8. Enter the nominal Flow Setpoint for the instrument under test (see Appendix A) into the IUT Flow (lpm) textbox.

    Counting Efficiency 1 Refer to Appendix A for a complete list of channel sizes. Refer to the S9900 Setup Manual (P/N 6003620) for PSL set up details. 1. Under Reference Counter, select 0.2 µm for 82XX and 93XX instruments or select 0.3 µm for 95XX instruments. 2.

    9. Adjust the threshold value to get the Counting Efficiency to 50% ±5%, if necessary, and repeat steps 3 to 9. 10. Note the Size Error value for Size Channel 1 in the CCAPC Cert Gen program. 11. For 8220, 8240, 8260, and Phase I models (9306-01, 9306-02, 9306-V, 9306-01BT, 9306-09, 9310-01, 9510-01, 9350-01, 9550-01), press the Set/Lock Bin1 Ct Pt button to enable editing of subsequent channels.

    13. Select Start Counting when ready. 14. Tap on the filter gently to generate PSL. Click on STOP Counting once the count has reached 3,000 particles. The final Ct Pt Accuracy will be shown. 15. Adjust the threshold value to get the Ct Pt Accuracy to 50% ±5%, if necessary, and repeat steps 13 and 15.

    14. Search for the particle counter by selecting Search IUT. If the unit is recognized, the serial number of the particle counter will be displayed. 15. Read the current instrument setting values by selecting Read IUT Settings. 16. Enter the nominal Flow Setpoint for the instrument under test (see Appendix A) into the IUT Flow (lpm) textbox.
  • Page 30 17. Perform the next two steps if calibrating a 9306-02BT, 9306-02MK, 9306-03, 9306-04, 9306-V2, 9306-10, 9310-02, 9350-02, 9350-03, 9510-02, 9550-02, 9500-01. Select Zero IUT Differential Pressure. 18. Message will appear to check that there is no flow through the IUT. Click OK after verifying.

    5. The counting will commence after the IUT has started and stabilized. Values will be displayed under the Reference Counts and the IUT Particle Counts. 6. Continue to count until the Counting Efficiency number stabilizes (±2%) and the reference count has reached 5,000 particles. Click on STOP Counting.
  • Page 38 12. Disconnect the tubing from the outlet of the IUT flow meter and attach it to the PSL carrying filter (as shown below). Tapping on the filter gently will generate PSL. 13. Select Start Counting when ready. 14. Tap on the filter gently to generate PSL. Click on STOP Counting once the count has reached 3,000 particles.

    Reset Calibration Info 1. Once the unit’s calibration is complete, select IUT Calibration Date and Run Time Reset. Check boxes labeled Set Calibration date to current, Reset Run Time, and Clear Particle Counts in order to reset internal clocks/timers related to the most recent service date. 2.

    Histograms show the size distribution of particles by utilizing an internal or external PHA to provide up to 2000+ channels of data. The software constructs the histogram by counting particles, distributing the counts across the 2000+ size channels based on pulse height, and plotting differential counts vs. channel number.
