AFTER SETTING THE MACHINE AS PER
THE PROGRAM DISPLAY SCREEN, BEGIN SEWING
Chainstitch
@ Place a piece of fabric underneath the presser foot, lower it and make a few stitches
by hand, turning the flywheel towards you.
Important!
Whenever re-threading the chainstitch looper and/or chainstitch needle, start sewing with
fabric underneath the presser foot.
You can start sewing from the edge of the fabric by feeding it under the front of the
lowered presser foot. Make sure the thread is chaining-off properly. If the stitches are
not formed correctly, adjust the tension as indicated on pages 41-48.
Chaining-off
@)When you reach the end of the fabric, do not raise the presser foot. Continue sewing
about 10 cm/4 in. beyond the end of the fabric, so that the machine forms a chain
of thread.
@)Then cut the threads with the thread cutter as shown.
Cover Hem
@ Place the fabric underneath the presser foot.
When you reach the end of fabric, push and hold the tension release lever, then
continue sewing the chain stitch for about 5 cm by gently pulling the fabric backward.
Back-tack Device for Finishing off Overlock Seams
© With this device, you can secure the overlock chain into the seam at the beginning
of the fabric.
First raise the presser foot.
Remove the overlock chain from the stitch tongue by releasing the needle tension.
Draw the thread forward, bring it towards you and pull it into the back-tack device,
as shown.
Place the fabric just in front of the needle(s).
© necessary, cut the fabric by hand first along the cutting line for about 3 cm/1 in..
Lower the presser foot and start stitching. The overlock chain is automatically secured
into the seam.
N.B. This device cannot be used for the chainstitch and rolled hem.
N.B. Do not raise the presser foot at the end of a seam but always sew thread chains at
least 10 cm/4 in. long.

Point de chainette
@ Placer un morceau de tissu sous le pied presse-étoffe, abaisser le pied et faire quelques
points en tournant le volant a la main vers vous.
IMPORTANT!
S'il est nécessaire de réenfiler le boucleur chainette et/ou |''aiguille chainette, ne
commencer a coudre qu'avec du tissu sous le pied presse-étoffe.
Vous pouvez commencer a4 coudre 4a partir du bord du tissu en présentant le tissu
devant le pied presse-étoffe abaissé. S'assurer que le fil forme convenablement une
chainette d'arrét. Si les points ne se forment pas correctement, ajuster les tensions selon
les indications données aux pages 41—48.
Chainette d'arrét
@ Lorsque vous arrivez a la fin du tissu, ne pas relever le pied presse-étoffe. Continuer
a coudre sur environ 10 cm au-dela du tissu pour obtenir une chainette de fils.
@ Ensuite couper le fil avec le coupe-fil comme indiqué.
Ourlet couvert
) Placer le tissu sous le pied presse-étoffe.
Lorsque vous arrivez a la fin du tissu, pousser et maintenir le levier de libération de
tension vers le haut en continuant 4 coudre 5 cm de chainette en tirant légérement
vers l'arriére.
Dispositif pour la finition des coutures overlock
©) Ce dispositif vous permet de fixer la chainette de l'overlock 4 |'intérieur de la couture
au début du tissu.
Relever d'abrod le pied presse-étoffe. Dégager la chainette de l'overlock de la languette
en libérant la tension du fil de l'aiguille. Tirer le fil vers I'avant, le ramener vers soi en
le tirant dans le dispositif, comme illustré.
Disposer le tissu directement devant l'aiguille/les aiguilles.
© Si nécessaire, faire d'abord manuellement une petite incision de 3 cm environ le long
de la ligne de coupe. Abaisser le pied presse-étoffe et commencer a coudre. La
chainette de l'overlock est automatiquement fixée dans la couture.
N.B. Ce dispositif ne peut pas étre utilisé pour le point de chainette ni pour l'ourlet roulé.
N.B. Ne pas relever le pied presse-étoffe a la fin d'une couture mais toujours réaliser
des chainettes d'au moins 10 cm de long.
