GENERAL SEWING TECHNIQUES
Decorative Topstitching (Flatlock)
@) Fold the fabric along the line to be topstitched and
sew over the folded edge.
@ Unfold the fabric, pull the threads flat on the under-
side and press. The final appearance can be enhanced
by using buttonhole
twist or embroidery thread on
the looper(s).
Sewing Edge-to-Edge
@ Align the edge of the two pieces of fabric, with their
wrong sides facing each other, and proceed in a similar
manner as above. Unfold and press. By using different
coloured
fabrics
and threads,
an attractive
''patch-
work"' effect can be achieved.
Pin-tucks
) Disengage the moving blade:
Fold the fabric along the line to be pintucked and sew
along the folded edge and press.
Quilting
©)using the chainstitch, quilting can be done with the
help of the quilting
guide,
supplied
as
a standard
accessory.
Insert the quilting guide, as shown.
It can be shifted
for sewing rows of a desired distance apart.
