Introduction
This compact flashlight produces an ultra bright light beam by using an LED powered by (2) two AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries. The Pelican™ 1975i flashlight is designed for easy use with one hand operation and has a dual-switch mode for constant on and momentary on. The 1975i flashlight body is made of a high impact polymer alloy for the most durable construction. The 1975i flashlight is water resistant.
BEFORE OPERATING, REMOVE THE MYLAR® INSULATOR BY UNSCREWING THE TAIL CAP.
Operation
- MOMENTARY
Partially depress the tail button for momentary operation. - CONSTANT ON
Fully depress the tail button and release. - LIGHT-OFF
From the ON position, fully depress the tail button and release.
To Change Batteries
- Remove the tail cap by turning counter-clockwise until it comes off the rear of the 1975i flashlight.
- Remove the (2) two used batteries from the 1975i flashlight.
- Install (2) two new AAA batteries with + terminal facing to the head assembly.
- Replace the tail cap by turning clockwise until sealed.
IECEx BAS 18.0045 Ex ia op is IIC T4 Ga Approved for use with two size "AAA" alkaline cells (Duracell™ MN2400, Energizer™ Max E92, Panasonic™ Xtreme Power LR03, Philips™ Powerlife LR03) or Pelican/Peli P-NiMH-AAA cells. To reduce risk of explosion do not mix old with new batteries, or mix batteries from different manufacturers. Do not change batteries in hazardous locations. |
General Care and Maintenance
- Prior to use in a marked location, visually inspect the flashlight for any external damage. If damage is present, do not use the flashlight in a hazardous location.
- Check closely for cuts, scratches, or otherwise damaged o-ring or mating lens lip surface. Remove any dirt or foreign matter from o-ring sealing surfaces. See Warranty information for replacement of o-ring.
- Apply a light coat of clear silicone grease on the o-rings occasionally if turning action becomes too difficult.
- Remove the tail cap and wipe the rear threads of the 1975i flashlight body and inside of the tail cap with a soft clean cloth occasionally to avoid intermittent flashlight operation.
- Clean flashlight only with a damp cloth.

TO PREVENT THE 1975I FLASHLIGHT FROM COMING ON ACCIDENTALLY WHEN THE FLASHLIGHT IS STORED, REMOVE THE BATTERIES. IF THE 1975I FLASHLIGHT IS TURNED ON WHILE IT IS IN A CONTAINER, THE FLASHLIGHT CAN OVERHEAT AND DAMAGE THE FLASHLIGHT OR THE MATERIAL OF THE SURROUNDING AREA.

IMPROPER HANDLING OF BATTERIES CAN LEAD TO LEAKING, FIRE OR EXPLOSION WHICH CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Alkaline Batteries
- For those products with Hazardous Location Safety Approvals for explosive environments, please be advised that the safety approval is only valid for the specified battery type and manufacturers and, where applicable, brand names that are displayed on the equipment and/or instructions sheets that are supplied with the flashlight. The use of other battery types may reduce the performance of the equipment, expose the user or others to serious injury, and will invalidate the safety approval.
- Always read the battery manufacturer's recommendations for the appropriate usage of the battery type/brand prior to using.
- When replacing the batteries, replace all the batteries at the same time. DO NOT mix battery brands. DO NOT mix old and new batteries. Always insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and equipment.
- DO NOT change batteries in a hazardous location.
- DO NOT use batteries beyond their expiration date.
- Remove batteries from equipment if it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
