These components must be electronically matched, programmed or paired before use. This is usually done at the Girard Systems factory. Should the need arise for the user to pair a device with the motor controller they must refer to the appropriate manual for the devices applicable to their particular installation.

L.E.D P2 Button Fig.2 When pairing with the 98GC74 it is advised that the awning to be controlled is manually extended couple of feet to enable the programmer to see if the awning is responding in the correct direction when the buttons on the wall switch are pressed.

PAIRING WITH A MOTION SENSOR Identify the Primary remote which operates the Motor controller for the awning on which the motion sensor is to be mounted. There may be more than one on the vehicle. Remove the 4 Phillips Magnet Base Plate screws holding the module together. Remove the base plate and silicone insert. Insert Fig.3 Turn the base plate over (Magnet down). Then Reed Switch place the motion sensor on top of it so that the magnet is aligned with the reed switch.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The GC1149A Dry Contact Module allows the user to interface their Dry Contact Systems (Crestron, Switch Input or RV-C) with our G-link Controllers. This module will accept Retract, Stop and Extend commands from the Dry Contact System and send an RF signal to any programmed G-link Controller or Remote Motor.

MODES OF OPERATION The GC1149A has 3 modes of operation; 1. Continuous Mode (Default) – A single press of a command button will allow the awning to fully extend or retract unless interrupted by the STOP button. 2. Step Mode (Selected) – The command button must be held down to allow the awning to fully extend or retract.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES The purpose of this device is to automatically send a signal to the motor controller of the fitted awning to fully retract the awning in windy weather conditions. In new installations the 98GC779 Motion sensor is preprogrammed at the factory. Replacement Motion sensors will need to be programmed.

The cable of the Motion sensor points in toward the middle of the awning, and is connected by means of a water resistant connection as shown in the photographs below. Once connected the cable should be tied and secured neatly to the awning lead rail.

2 small Phillips screws securing the module to the mounting bracket and turning the module so that the cable is now to the left and the Girard Systems Logo is facing upward, and then replace the screws. So that this ….
