6. COMMISSIONING

6.1

INSTALLATION

Observe the following when installing the UPS system:
•
The installation area must be smooth-surfaced as well as sturdy
and stable enough to prevent vibrations and impacts.
•
Ensure sufficient load-bearing capacity.
•
Install the units in a way that ensures sufficient air circulation. En-
sure a clearance of at least 100 mm at the rear for ventilation
purposes. Do not block air intakes on the front or sides of the de-
vice. Ensure a clearance of at least 50 mm in these areas.
•
Avoid extreme temperatures. We recommend an ambient tem-
perature of 0 - 35°C (ideal room temperature) to maximize the
service life of the batteries. Do not expose the units to direct sun-
light or operate them near other sources of heat, such as radia-
tors.
•
Protect units against external influences (especially moisture and
dust ingress). In this regard, also observe the information in
Chapter 3.2, pages 60 to 62, of these operating instructions.
If the device is brought from a cold room into a warm room, or if the
room temperature suddenly drops, condensation may form on the inside
of the device. To prevent the formation of condensation, allow the device
to stand for 2 hours before switching it on.
