Setting the USB Mode

Use in the [USB HID Keyboard] mode normally. If the barcode cannot be read with this mode, the application may be compatible with [USB HID POS]. In
this case, change the mode according to the following steps.
1. Touch
(Panasonic PC Settings Utility) -
2. When using POS API: Touch and add a check mark for [USB HID POS], and then touch [OK].
When not using POS API: Touch and add a check mark for [USB HID Keyboard], and then touch [OK].
Reading the Barcode
Do not look directly into the reading window.

DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE BARCODE READER LIGHT.
[2D Barcode Key Emulator] enables:
it makes sound when reading barcode is successful.
it reads barcode with 2 bytes code.
1. Touch
(Panasonic PC Settings Utility) -
2. Touch [Connection to Barcode (Always-On)].
3. Open the software for reading a barcode, and put the cursor on it.
4. Aim the Barcode Reader (A) at the barcode.
5.
Press
button (B).
The Barcode Reader lights red to indicate the reading position.
COM Port of Barcode Module is occupied during reading barcode by Barcode Key Emulator. When reading barcode by Barcode Key

Emulator is not necessary, touch [Connection to Barcode (Always-On)] in [2D Barcode Key Emulator].
N O T E
When the barcode read operation is finished, please wait about three seconds to start the next reading. You may press the button imme-

diately, even if you set to release, it takes several seconds to light to light actually.

Set [A Button] to [Barcode Reader Trigger] in the [Tablet Button Configuration] of [Main] menu of the Setup Utility.
