Jumper Settings

Explanation of
Jumpers
To modify the operation of the
motherboard, jumpers can be used
to choose optional settings. Jump-
ers create shorts between two
pins to change the function of the
header. Pin 1 is identified with a
square solder pad on the printed
circuit board.

Front Side Bus Speed

The FSB speed is set with JP6
and JP7. Table 5-14 displays the
settings for these two jumpers.
The CPU speed can also be
changed by software control in
BIOS (see CPU Speed setting).
The CPU Speed setting will show
you the actual CPU speed for each
FSB speed option selected.
Note: If the system does not
reboot after changing the CPU
speed, 1) clear CMOS and reboot
(as described on the next page)
and then set the correct CPU
speed with the BIOS setting men-
tioned above.
