  • Page 11 When the dryer is operating, it draws in room air, heats it, passes this air through the tumbler, and exhausts it out of the building. Therefore, the room air must be continually replenished from the outdoors. If the make-up air is inadequate, drying time and drying efficiency will be adversely affected.

These figures must be increased if the main duct run from the last dryer to where it exhausts to the outdoors is longer than 12 feet (3.656 meters) or has more than 1 elbow in it.

  • Page 21 For proper operation, the gas pressure must be correct, consistent and maintained at the gas pressure rates shown on page 17. Provisions are made at the gas valve for taking gas pressure readings. There are 2 types of devices used to measure gas pressure. They are the spring/mechanical type gauge and the manometer.
