Power Supply

The 7043A-8R has a triple redundant 600 watt redundant cooling power
supply that consists of three 300W power modules. All three modules
are active and share the load of the system (up to 600W max.). If any of
the three modules fail, the other two will continue to provide up to 600W
of power and allow the system to continue running without interruption.
The 7043A-i has a single 450W low noise power supply. The power
supply modules have an auto-switching capability that enable them to
automatically sense and operate with either 110 or 220 volt inputs. The
power modules are PFC (Power Factor Correction) compliant.

Power Supply Failure

If a power supply module fails, an audible alarm will activate to notify you
of a power failure. The PWR Fail LED and the LED on the back of the
power supply will also illuminate and remain on (until the failed unit has
been replaced).

Replacing the Power Supply

1.
Accessing the power supply:
You do not need to power down the system to replace a power module
on the 7043A-8R - you will need to power down the 7043A-i. Remove
the left/top chassis cover to access the power supply for removal.
2.
Removing the power supply:
First, unplug the power cord from the failed power supply module. On
the 7043A-i, you must also remove the power supply connectors that
connect to the motherboard. Finally, press the locking tab on the module
and then pull the unit completely out.
3.
Installing a new power supply module:
Replace the failed unit with another unit having the exact same part
number. Gently but firmly push the new unit all the way into the open
bay. Secure it to the chassis using the locking tab. With the 7043A-i,
you must reconnect the two power cables to the motherboard (ATX PWR
CONN and J15 connectors). Finish by replacing the chassis left/top
cover and then restoring power to the system.
