6.1
CLEANING: The separate components of this product must be cleaned according to separate procedures.
A.
Rope Grab: Periodically clean the metal components of the Rope Grab with a soft brush, warm water, and a mild
soap solution. Ensure parts are thoroughly rinsed with clean water.
b.
Energy-Absorbing Lanyard: Clean the webbing with water and a mild soap solution. Rinse the Lanyard
thoroughly. Position the Lanyard so that excess water can drain out and allow to air-dry. Do not force-dry with
heat. Clean labels as required.

An excessive buildup of dirt, paint, etc., may prevent the Lanyard from working properly. In severe cases,
buildup may cause the Lanyard to become weakened to the point of degradation, at which point it should be
removed from service.
6.2
SERVICE: Only 3M or parties authorized in writing by 3M may make repairs to this equipment.
6.3
SToRAGE AND TRANSPoRT: When not in use, store and transport the Rope Grab and associated fall protection
equipment in a cool, dry, clean environment out of direct sunlight. Avoid areas where chemical vapors may exist.
Thoroughly inspect components after extended storage.

LABELS and MARKINGS
7.1
LAbELS: Figure 12 illustrates markings present on the Rope Grab. Markings must be present and fully legible. If
markings are not present or legible, then the Rope Grab should be replaced. Information provided on each marking is as
follows:
1) Company Logo
2) Materials
3) Serial Number
4) Product Specifications Table

5) Warning Statement
6) Manufactured (Year/Month) and Lot Number
7) Model Number
8) Length in Meters (Feet)
