Chapter 9 Service Operations

Limit Switches

Four (4) limit switches are installed on the machine to initiate the relay-based logic controller for the machine. The
position of the roller arms on the switches were set in the vertical down position at the factory to achieve proper
operation. After a period of operation, it may become necessary to reset these arms to their original positions. Note that
LS-5 will need to be rotated clockwise until it clicks when the arm is installed, if the opposing cylinder is in the fully
retracted position.

Hydraulic System

Periodic inspection of the sight glass on the hydraulic sump is necessary to determine the cleanliness of the fluid in the
sump. The filter should be replaced when the fluid becomes cloudy. Inspecting the fluid for a milky consistency will
determine the presence of water in the system. If water if present in the fluid, it should be drained and replaced, along
with the filter.

Hydraulic Leaks

The most common cause of leaks in a hydraulic system is damage to the hoses. Any suspect hoses should be
immediately replaced. When hoses are replaced, the fittings should be inspected for leakage.

Directional Valves

The BP360 is equipped with three (3) hydraulic directional valves that control the operation of the cylinders. Should they
fail to function, the covers should first be removed and the contacts inspected for corrosion. Faulty valves will require
replacement to guarantee operation.
