press room, which is above freezing. Care should be taken to empty the supply system of all ice and snow prior to
shutting down the machine.
Operating Tips
•
By turning the main power switch to "OFF," the machine will halt production and return to its de-energized
state.
•
Throw the machine power supply disconnect only in an emergency or for safety reasons when performing
maintenance or other repairs to the machine.
•
The type of ice supplied to the block press is a key factor in the quality and size of block produced.
•
The ice cut-off slide can be adjusted to one of four height settings to control block size.
•
Ice block weight and quality can also be altered by the amount of water that is injected into the compacting
chamber during a cycle. Adjust the hand flow control valve and / or TDR-2 to find the correct setting for your
application.
•
Blocks formed from large or coarse ice fragments will benefit from the addition of water injection. This will
increase block weight and create a glazed surface to improve appearance and durability.
•
Blocks formed from fine ice or snow generally do not benefit from water injection, although a trace amount of
water may be necessary.
•
Excessive water injection may cause the block to melt inside of the compactor, resulting in smaller block size and
lighter weight.
